One Day Handbuilding - 11:00-17:00 [or equivalent hours] Privately Taught Class - Full Space Hire
This One Day Workshop will guide you through the basics of handbuilding. If this is your first time working with clay, this is a brilliant way to be introduced to clay as a material. You will begin your session by handling soft clay by rolling out coils to later use to make a pot of your choice. During the second half of the session, your instructor will demonstrate how to use the slab roller compress clay to long sheets that can be cut and shaped to create larger scale work. For those who are more experienced, you are very welcome and we will explore the techniques you find most suited to your aims. We will then help you improve your skills and aim for those forms you wish to pursue.
The course allows you to keep 5 pots per student (size-dependent), if you do wish to keep further pots, you can pay £10 per extra vessel directly on the website under the ‘extra pot payment’ tab. This fee is to cover the clay, firings and glazing. We do however encourage students to be as critical of their work as possible and only keep what they know they will use, or is going to sit proudly somewhere to look at, as we want to aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible and clay can only be recycled pre their firings, but not after!
A Maximum of 10 Students Attending - One Day Class - £1300
If 10 attend this is £130 per head which is our normal Taster Class Cost Per Head.

All classes will take place in the pottery at: 11-12 Crown Works, Temple Street, London, E26QQ
Price includes all materials used in the session, with the exception of pots kept above the number allocated for your class.
Pots will be ready usually within three weeks, but sometimes longer depending on firing schedules. You will be notified by email when your pots are ready. We ask that you pick up or arrange for your pots to be delivered to you (for an additional fee) within one month of the original pick up email being sent out. If your pieces have not been picked up or sent within this time-frame then we regret that we will have had to give to our local community, as we are so limited on shelf space.
A welcome email with further instructions about what to expect before your class is sent around a week before your class commences. This email will be sent to the email provided at booking.

RESCHEDULING, CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
* If given 8 or more days notice we can either reschedule, refund or generate a gift code for rebooking your class.
* If given 7 days or less notice due to illness of any kind, or for any other reason, including being pinged by covid app, we cannot reschedule or refund. There are no exceptions to this, so please do not ask or pressurise our staff.
* In the scenario of 7 days or less notice of you not being able to attend, your seat always remains yours to give to a friend or family member to attend.
* We can only take one individual for the duration of a course, not an array of people on different sessions, ie only one person can attend all or some of the sessions.
* We regret we will not be able to replace or rearrange missed sessions. Please do not ask us to make exceptions and please understand we cannot accommodate everyones diary changes and sudden change of circumstances.
* Gift Cards are non-refundable
