2 HR TASTER - Private Hire of Handbuilding Studio

from £550.00

Taster Class - 2 Hours Privately Taught Class - Full Space Hire

In this fun introductory class you will become familiar with the basics of handbuilding and learn what it is like to have a go at making a mug. Your teacher will demonstrate the process to you, including pinch and coil techniques, you may wish to have a go at including a handle or making a more traditional Tea Bowl shape. We encourage you to be playful with your designs and many students add textures and their own unique twists to their final piece(s).

One pot per attendee is included within this class, which we then fire and glaze for you. If you wish to keep more pots, by all means you can, we charge £10 for each additional piece kept to cover the material and firing costs. Half of that cost then goes to charitable organisations, often in Cornwall where much of our clay comes from as a way to given back to the same environment our materials are extracted from.

There is a maximum of 10 people who attend each class.A Maximum of 10 Students Attending- Taught for a Two Hour Class - £550

If 10 attend this is £55 per head which is our normal Taster Class Cost Per Head.

[Fixed price no matter the number attending as this is a full private hire of space]

All classes will take place in the pottery at:  11-12 Crown Works, Temple Street, London, E26QQ

Price includes all materials used in the session.

You will still be able to keep your pots if you wish, each pot kept will be £10 and half of that cost will then go to supporting Forest School activities and planting trees and other such organisations. At the end of each year we will tally up the amount raised and what we have done with the proceeds.

Pots will be ready usually within three weeks, but sometimes longer depending on firing schedules. You will be notified by email when your pots are ready. We ask that you pick up or arrange for your pots to be delivered to you (for an additional fee) within one month of the original pick up email being sent out. If your pieces have not been picked up or sent within this time-frame then we regret that we will have had to give to our local community, as we are so limited on shelf space.

A welcome email with further instructions about what to expect before your class is sent around a week before your class commences. This email will be sent to the email provided at booking.

We really hope that you enjoy your workshop with us!
