Clare has been working with clay for many years, having discovered ceramics while studying architecture at university in the United States. After graduating she pursued her love of ceramics on a part-time basis while working in the financial services sector. Clare became a full-time potter in 2016.
Clare works primarily in porcelain, finding its refined nature well-suited to the streamlined shapes that she creates, while also providing an ideal canvas for bold glazes and body stains. While the majority of Clare's work is wheel-thrown tablewares, she also creates decorative hand-built pieces inspired by Japanese mokume-gane metalworking techniques.
