Jago Poynter
With a ceramics degree from Cardff School of Art and Design and working within the industry in the UK and China’s ‘porcelain capital’ Jingdezhen, he’s been honing his craft over the past decade. Jago is known particularly for his use of the wheel with his work described as ‘beautiful and pure, evoking serenity and peace’.
His recent commissions include a monumental vase displayed at TEFAF 24 as part of Rodin’s ‘Vase of the Titans’ for Bowman Gallery. Jago is currently working on a series of ash-glazed domestic forms at his studio in Frome, Somerset.
For the past six years Jago has led pottery classes across London, sharing his passion and becoming part of the journey of many emerging potters. Jago has an optimistic energy mixed with a strong and steady foundation. He enables students to find confidence whilst exploring the boundaries of their practice.
