Instructor if and when needed - Pippa HarrisonTuesday, August 25 – Glazing Work - Demonstration of how to glaze work. This may well not be on your own pieces as we encourage you to make your edit of your final work you wish to keep right at the end of the Foundation. We then offer to glaze your work for you if you live abroad and ship, or if you are more local we will arrange glazing sessions a few weeks post the course has been completed. This is so that you do not keep and fire work which you later regret selecting at the end of the Foundation, as you will have improved so much. 40 pieces are allowed to be kept and from previous foundations the edit is most effective right at the end of the foundation. The focus of the Foundation should always be to improve your techniques and knowledge and not necessarily be about the final products you leave with. Your skills and knowledge you leave with are at all times our focus!
Wednesday, August 26 – Bellied and collared Vessels - Instructor Clare Spindler
Bellied and collared Vessels are a perfect technique to finish with. This will allow you to challenge yourself with bottle forms and vases.

You will continue with the forms Clare demonstrates and perhaps if ready challenge yourself with higher weights of clay.
Friday, August 28 – Bellied and collared Vessels - Turning - Chucks. Edit All your Work - Celebration - Instructor Clare Spindler
You will turn your work from the bellied and collared last two days. You will perhaps have to learn about throwing Chucks and how you can use them to turn works with longer necks. You will Edit and Choose the pieces you wish to fire from the whole Foundation Course. We will then display all of your work on the tables to see the vast improvement and array of works you have produced. Off to the kiln room your pieces will then go! Cake and Celebration!!
