Ervin will immerse you into the world of throwing with this Five Day workshop.
You will cover centering, pulling the walls effectively of your pots, throwing cylinders, bowls, plates and mugs - including pulling the all important handles. You will also turn your work giving your bowls ‘feet’ and fettling the bases of your mugs and or cylinders.
If you have thrown before, Ervin will help you after the initial demonstrations. He will then hear and help guide you according to your goals within tableware, correcting any issues with your techniques and helping you to attempt throwing larger weights of clay and refining your forms.
It will be a wonderful workshop; full of sharing of knowledge and tips from an established, highly regarded potter.
Ervin is a key member of the Crown Works team, teaching at the studio regularly and is a full time member and potter at the studio. He teaches all of our regular weekly intermediate classes which have returnee students over many years. These are weeks not to be missed, where you can really improve your kill level and hone techniques and iron out errors.
You will be able to keep up to 10 works as part of the course price. You are of course welcome to keep as many other pieces you make (and love) beyond this at a charge of £10 per item.
There is also an option of returning to do a glaze add on class if you wish to glaze your work yourself, this can be booked on the Sunday after you have finished your class and you know how many items you have made and what you feel is the right thing to do. A glaze add on class is £50pp and happens after the work has been through its first firing known as a bisque fire, there are lots of dates to choose from but they start from two weeks afterwards to give us time to dry your pots out and put them through the kilns. Alternatively the course includes our technicians firing and glazing your work for you in our standard white studio glaze. The choice is yours!
There will be a maximum of 10 students attending each class. Every student has their own dedicated pottery wheel.

All classes will take place in the pottery at: 11-12 Crown Works, Temple Street, London, E26QQ
Price includes all materials used in the session.
You are able to keep a total of 10 pots (size dependant) from the session, this will have be finished off by our technicians once it has dried out (a few days after your class), then fired and glazed for you in a tin white glaze. Pots will be ready usually within three weeks, but sometimes longer depending on firing schedules. You will be notified by email when your pots are ready.
We ask that you pick up or arrange for your pots to be delivered to you (for an additional fee) within one month of the original pick up email being sent out. If your pieces have not been picked up or sent within this time-frame then we regret that we will have had to give to our local community, as we are so limited on shelf space.
A welcome email with further instructions about what to expect before your class is sent around a week before your class commences. This email will be sent to the email provided at booking.

RESCHEDULING, CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
* If given 8 or more days notice we can either reschedule, refund or generate a gift code for rebooking your class.
* If given 7 days or less notice due to illness of any kind, or for any other reason, including being pinged by covid app, we cannot reschedule or refund. There are no exceptions to this, so please do not ask or pressurise our staff.
* In the scenario of 7 days or less notice of you not being able to attend, your seat always remains yours to give to a friend or family member to attend.
* We can only take one individual for the duration of a course, not an array of people on different sessions, ie only one person can attend all or some of the sessions.
* We regret we will not be able to replace or rearrange missed sessions. Please do not ask us to make exceptions and please understand we cannot accommodate everyones diary changes and sudden change of circumstances.
